What Does the Lifetime Warranty for the Retrax Pro MX Cover?

Dodge Owner: I'm interested in the Retrax Pro MX. Are you guys an authorized dealer? What kind of warranty comes with that tonneau cover?

Peter: That's right. Yeah, we're an authorized dealer. We work directly with the manufacturer and that one has a lifetime warranty.

Dodge Owner: Okay. On those, is there anything I have to worry about as far as the inside? As far as canister and all that, how that holds up and far as the moving parts and all that? I did some research on them and found it's one of the better ones.

Peter: It's the best retractable out there, in my opinion. It's going to hold up for the lifetime of the truck. I mean it's not uncommon to hear about having one of these covers on for you know, 10 - 12 years. They hold up very, very well over time.

Dodge Owner: Okay. So a lifetime warranty? What does that cover the lifetime warranty? That's not for the finish that's for the internal parts, right, the moving parts?

Peter: Yeah, it's not for the finish but it's pretty much for everything else. Like they really like to keep you as a customer. They're really easy to work with if something were to come up.

Dodge Owner: Okay. Well like I said, I was just looking around and I emailed, I think I emailed you guys over the weekend but I guess you were probably closed for the holiday and stuff. And I saw the email back today.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: You got my email. I'll make a decision soon and then I'll call you back.

Peter: Okay, sounds good.

What's the Price Difference for Wide Rails on a Retrax Pro MX for a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500?

Dodge Owner: You emailed me on a Retrax bedcover for my Dodge.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: It was a Retrax Pro MX.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: I just called the number on the email. It said that the Retrax has 20% off or something like that for a special savings event or something like that.

Peter: Yeah. Did we send you a quote yet?

Dodge Owner: You sent me a quote. That one came in first, then the email after that came in a few hours later about the sales event. So I don't know if that was applied to both.

Peter: What truck is it for?

Dodge Owner: The 2013 Dodge Ram 2500.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: Six and a half foot bed.

Peter: Okay I just sent you the quote including that discount. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering it from outside of Arizona.

Dodge Owner: Okay. What about, how much more for the, they call it the wide rails?

Peter: Wide rails is just $40 more.

Dodge Owner: Okay. Okay, so the quote you gave me was pretty much the accurate quote. It just came in after the other email I guess. Is that the sale price?

Peter: It is. What I sent was the sale price.

Dodge Owner: Okay. And you're an authorized dealer and all the stuff as far as warranty goes and everything?

Peter: Yes, absolutely.

Is The BAKFlip MX4 Waterproof When it's on The Truck?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I wanted to get a tonneau cover for my truck.

Peter: Okay. What truck is it for?

Chevy Silverado Owner: It's a 2005 Chevy Silverado, has the shorter bed. I think it's like a five foot eight bed, or five foot five.

Peter: Which cover were you talking about?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I've been looking online all over the place and I really like the BAKFlip MX4.

Peter: Yes, that's very popular. Let me double check they have it for your truck. Yes, and they do. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Oh okay, cool. What's the availability on it, like if I want to go ahead and do it? When can I get it by?

Peter: Our shipping is typically about five days.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Five days? Okay. I've been looking around and that's probably the best price I've heard so far. Is there any sales or anything coming up on that or is that pretty much the best?

Peter: That is a sale price.

Chevy Silverado Owner: That is the sale price? When is the sale final?

Peter: I think the end of the day on Friday, this coming Friday.

Chevy Silverado Owner: The day on Friday? Okay. Let me run it by the misses first.

Peter: I got you. No problem.

Chevy Silverado Owner: We're going to go on vacation soon and I wanted to have something to cover the truck with. With this cover, I mean have you seen this cover? Have you used this cover before?

Peter: Oh yeah, absolutely.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Is the BAKFlip MX4 pretty much waterproof when it's on the truck?

Peter: It's designed to be extremely water resistant. It's got drain channels that lead to drain tubes that keep the water out of the bed. No Tonneau cover is 100% waterproof, per se. You might get a drip or two, but water won't be pooled in the bed or anything like that.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Right, that's kind of what I was looking to do. That and with this one, I've heard with some of these Tonneau covers you have to open them like to close the bed, like to close the tailgate? With this one, do you have to close, when I'm going to close the tailgate do I have to open the cover to close the tailgate?

Peter: You don't. You can slam the tailgate while the cover's down. It's designed that way.

Chevy Silverado Owner: That's what I was looking for too. Let me write that down. Thanks for your help, Peter. I appreciate it.

Once My Retrax Cover Is Installed, What Should I Do if it Won't Latch?

Tonneau Covered Customer: I have recently ordered a Retrax cover from you guys.

Peter: Okay.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Long story short, I just put it on myself and everything is fine. My last one, I've had my last one for years. I put it on, I thought, cause it wouldn't snap, the little latch would not snap all the way down. I was like, "Well, it's just an adjustment, I'll get to it, eventually." I finally started messing with it, but the latch itself will not close. I actually took the whole latch off, and it actually won't snap closed.

Peter: Okay, I just pulled up your order and I see it here. Since it's on, it's been installed, you're actually in the warranty period with the manufacturer. This is obviously still under warranty. You're going to deal with the manufacturer directly on this. They can either replace that handle, or you know, the whole cover if they have to. But it's going to be their call on this one. I can give you their phone number when you're ready.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Sure, what's the number for Retrax?

Peter: Okay, it's 800-206-4070. And I'm just going to email you again your order confirmation in case they ask for that, but I don't think they will. This is a recent purchase. Give them a call, they should be able to help you with this, and let me know if you need anything else from me.

Where Can I Get the Best Deal on AMP Research Powersteps Xtreme for a 2019 Ford F350?

F-350 Owner: I got a quote on some AMP Research Powersteps and I want to order them, please. You guys have the best deal on the Powersteps I've seen compared to anywhere else.

Shawn: Beautiful, give me one second here. Those have been a little popular today. What kind of truck do you have?

F-350 Owner: It's a 2019 Ford F350, super cab, eight foot bed.

Shawn: Alright, and which ones were you looking at? The Plug-and-Play?

F-350 Owner: It's the Powerstep Xtreme. I've even got a part number for it. Somewhere I have the part number for it. 78235-01A. Is that what you've got?

Shawn: That is what I show.

F-350 Owner: Okay, and then I'm also considering an OBD2 splitter for that which is a 76404-01A.

Shawn: And then the steps. Here I got the price on those, those are the Xtremes, I am going to honest with you I'm looking at my supplier and they don't have them. But, I just got off the phone with AMP today, and there should be another shipment going to them this week yet, so I assume that since they're not showing stock that they should be on order at least.

F-350 Owner: I'm not in a hurry. I don't mind putting them on backorder.

Shawn: So that's the steps, that's the OBD connector, was there anything else that you were looking for?

F-350 Owner: Nope. Just the steps and the OBD connector.

Shawn: Okay. I'll get those on order and chances are you're going to see that ODB connector a week and a half before you see your steps. But, they'll both be on their way.

What's The Best Way to Field Destroy a Tonneau Cover?

Tonneau Covered Customer: Hey I got your email. Do I just need to respond to it that with that photo of the damaged cover you requested? Am I going to get a new tonneau cover?

Sean: Yup. Just shoot me back an e-mail with the photo and with the serial number. The serial number will be on the box. It will also be on the third to the last panel. On the bottom side. I'll get it over to the manufacturer so they can ship out a new one.

Tonneau Covered Customer: I'll go get a picture of that serial number and... Serial number, photo, anything else? You want an address, telephone number, and a cellphone number right?

Sean: Yup. Telephone number and if you want to put in your ship-to address that would great too so it's all right there.

Tonneau Covered Customer: So they pick up the old one and is that how that works? Or do I have to drop it off somewhere?

Sean: Well, generally what we'll actually do, because chances of getting that thing all the way back to them in decent enough condition to salvage it is slim to none so we'll just probably have you field destroy it. I don't know. I've seen people do, as much as a saw bow or even a shotgun. It's out of circulation, they don't care exactly what you do with it.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Oh no, I see. I should just saw it in half and take a photo of it?

Sean: Yeah.

Tonneau Covered Customer: All right, I'll get you those pictures over to you right now.
