What is The Best Retractable Cover Out There?

F250 Owner: I'm calling about a tonneau cover for a 2017 Ford F250 with the short bed.

Peter: Which cover were you looking at?

F250 Owner: The Retrax Pro MX, but what other brands do you guys sell?

Peter: We sell pretty much all of the major Tonneau brands, BAK, Undercover, Extang, Truxedo, Roll-N-Lock. Pretty much all of them. There are a few we don't, we don't sell Gator.

F250 Owner: They don't seem that great anyway.

Peter: Yeah. That's about it, we sell pretty much all the big ones.

F250 Owner: So in your opinion, what is the best retractable cover out there?

Peter: We're talking about it right now. It's the Retrax Pro MX. Yeah, it's the only one I know with a lifetime warranty, too.

F250 Owner: Is that through the manufacturer or how does that work?

Peter: It is, yeah. And they cover pretty much everything. I mean they want to keep you a customer for life. So I mean, shorter view, jumping up and down on it and they'll pretty much cover everything.

F250 Owner: Okay. If and when the time comes, I'll definitely be giving you a call.

Peter: Sounds good.

How Long Are Price Quotes on Tonneau Covers Good For?

Toyota Owner: Yeah, hey, good morning, Peter. I'm calling you back on this back cover for a Toyota.

Peter: Okay, what truck is it for?

Toyota Owner: It's a 2006 Toyota Tundra, four-door.

Peter: What's the bed length?

Toyota Owner: 6'2" bed.

Peter: Okay. And which cover were we talking about?

Toyota Owner: I think you had quoted me on the G2 Cover. How long are your quotes on tonneau covers good for?

Peter: Yep. Generally our quotes only last for 10 days, but I'll still honor this price along with the free shipping, and there's no sales tax.

Toyota Owner: Okay. Yeah, I think I'd like to go and get it.

Peter: Okay. Allow about five days for delivery on this. You're going to receive a payment confirmation here in just a second. There we go. All right. And you're all set, you're good to go.

Toyota Owner: All right, thank you for your help, and thanks for being so persistent.

Peter: Yeah, no problem. I appreciate it. Thank you.

Which ACCESS Cover Has the Best Weather Protection for a 1997 F-250?

F-250 Owner: I sent an email requesting a price on an ACCESS Tonneau Cover and I am calling back because I have some questions and I don't necessarily need the ACCESS brand either. I am going to go on a trip and I am going to get a pop-up for my 1997. I got a Rhino Lining on my truck, so I am wondering how that's going to work as far as sealing the cover.

Peter: Yeah, that's not going to be an issue. All the appropriate seals and gaskets come with it. What truck was it for? You said a 1997?

F-250 Owner: Yeah, it's a 1997 F-250 RBS and it's a 9-foot bed.

Peter: Okay.

F-250 Owner: And so, there's also a seal kit and that is that they sit pretty much on the rim of the bed where they attach and they don't hang over or go out to the edge of the rail? And I would like to make-I'd like to have it where I've got it sealed fairly well from the weather. It's not going to be totally waterproof, I accept that, but I'd like to...is the seal kit available for that particular cover?

Peter: Yes, I can include that with your purchase.

F-250 Owner: Okay. And so, I've researched a little, and it doesn't seem to be a lot of difference between covers. Can you, maybe I'm viewing it correctly but it seems like all the different brands-and I need a roll-up. I need a fold-up one and I got a huge Snake hitch in my truck so I can't have a 3 piece fold up. I need it to actually roll up but I do want some rigidity in it.

Peter: Okay. So, no there is not a lot of difference. You just have to decide if you want a higher profile that sits up a little or lower profile.

F-250 Owner: So, is the higher profile going to make a difference?

Peter: It's just the way that it looks and you get maybe an extra inch underneath.

F-250 Owner: So, it's really storage more than anything else.

Peter: Right.

F-250 Owner: Right, got it. So, the vinyl lining would not be a problem.

Peter: No.

F-250 Owner: Okay. And what, how much is the seal kit?

Peter: I can include that with your purchase.

F-250 Owner: Oh, okay. So, you've quoted a price on the long bed. I'm looking at the email you sent me.

Peter: Yeah, I can do a few bucks better than that on the ACCESS covers; the Original or the Laredo which sits a little more, lower profile.

F-250 Owner: Right, and tell me about your Angry Elephant Brand?

Peter: We actually don't sell that anymore. We just recently stopped selling that and I don't know if we are going to be doing that again.

F-250 Owner: Oh, okay. Well, I wasn't sure. I was looking at a review online that talked about the Angry Elephant and I was just curious to know about that one as well. How long is, how good is the price quote good for?

Peter: Ten days.

F-250 Owner: Yeah, okay. And so, the cover is vinyl? Is that a commercial-grade, like vinyl?

Peter: Yes, it's very high quality.

F-250 Owner: Yeah, it is a high quality Tonneau Cover?

Peter: It is, very much so.

F-250 Owner: Yes. What about other brands on the market? I see some have fabric and stuff like that but I can't see those things lasting as good as the vinyls.

Peter: No, the vinyls what you want.

F-250 Owner: Yeah, okay. Okay, well are there any other? I know the Original, but what about the low-profile one? Is it about the same price?

Peter: Yes, it's the same price with free shipping and there is no sales tax if your ordering from outside of Arizona.

F-250 Owner: What does the five-year warranty cover?

Peter: Pretty much everything. They want to keep you as a customer so the warranty is very good.

F-250 Owner: Okay. And that has the aluminum slats that go across?

Peter: Yes, that's correct.

F-250 Owner: Yeah. And when they say load or weight capacity, that doesn't mean a lot. Can you give me an idea... Would it support a foreign snow bed?

Peter: Yes.

F-250 Owner: Or? Okay, so it would. How many pounds do you think it would support?

Peter: I mean when it is equally distributed weight, probably, 100-200 lbs.

F-250 Owner: Oh, okay. Well let me check with my wife because we are going to be pulling a camper on our next trip, but it would be nice to put some stuff in our truck and have it covered.

Peter: Sure. Just give me a call when you're ready.

Is There a Tonneau Cover That Utilizes The Deck Rail System on a 2019 Toyota Tundra CrewMax?

Toyota Owner: I just bought a new truck, 2019 Toyota Tundra CrewMax. I have the deck rail system in there and I wanted to know if you had a hard folding cover that utilizes that system, that I don't have to move the deck rail system. I was looking at the, the BAKFlip, I think it's MX4, but you have to move that down to ... I think you can order the brackets, but I know from Toyota OEM they have a cover that utilizes that track that's there already.

Shaun: Okay. Let me see here. You know, Undercover uses it, but then you lose functionality of your tie-downs. You can't move them once a cover is installed.

Toyota Owner: Okay, I see what you're saying. So you could flip it open, but wherever the cleats are, that's where they stay or you can't use them at all?

Shaun: Yeah. Wherever the cleats are, is where they stay. Essentially what's going to happen is there are these little clamps ... The little block goes inside of the channel of your rails, that you have currently. And then so you're going to have three different blocks, in three different locations. So essentially you can move those tie-downs within the space of those blocks, but obviously you can't move it past that.

Toyota Owner: Yeah, yeah, that's no problem. I just didn't want to move around my ... drop the tracks or anything like that.

Shaun: Okay. What year is it again?

Toyota Owner: It's a 2019 Toyota Tundra CrewMax, the short bed.

Shaun: Okay.

Toyota Owner: You see, that's the other thing, some of these covers, they list 5.5 and then 5.7

Shaun: Yeah, I know, it's all the same. All right, so Undercover has a few different options. What price range do you want to stay in?

Toyota Owner: I know they're probably close to a grand. So I guess somewhere in that eight to a thousand dollar price range

Shaun: How much do you think you're going to be using this cover, man? Is it going to be every day? As a daily driver, contractor?

Toyota Owner: No. Basic driving back and forth to work. I'm not really expecting to haul a lot of stuff. Every once in awhile I'll run to Home Depot.

Shaun: Well, they have two different things for you and they're both matte black. One's more of a shiny finish, or not shiny but smooth finish. And then one's more of a rough finish. Now the rough finish is Line-X material on there. So it's scratch proof.

Toyota Owner: What is that like? Oh, it's scratch proof. Okay.

Shaun: Bedliner. You know spray in bed liners? It's actually on top of the cover.

Toyota Owner: Like a Rhino type finish.

Shaun: Right. Yeah. They spray their panels now before they assemble the cover. So they're actually pretty awesome, man. I actually worked for them for a decade and the salesman had one on his truck when they first did one and he took a key to it, and went back and forth and could not scratch this cover.

Toyota Owner: Okay. That that's like four panels, or three?

Shaun: For your truck, since it's a short bed, it's gonna be three panels and then you have the solid a-panel. Unlike the BAKFlip, the BAKFlip has a composite a-panel, so it's the same as the cover. The Undercover is solid.

Toyota Owner: Okay. And what other options do I have with ... And that utilizes the track where it is?

Shaun: Correct. The other one that I was going to suggest to you, and both of these have a five-year warranty, the other one when I was going to suggest was the Ultra Flex. It's matte black finish, it does not have the Line-X on it, but it has pretty much all the other features. It also has a carpeted underside, and it's not really carpet, it's BedRug is what it is. And the BedRug material is basically a plastic but it feels like a carpet. It's got a nicer finish. I believe it comes with a set of lights, so it'll come with a bed light as well.

Toyota Owner: All right. Could you give me the model numbers of both because I just wanted to take a look at them online.

Shaun: Sure. It's UX42008 and AX42008.

Toyota Owner: Okay, and I'll give you a call back. I just want to take a look at them. And those are the only two that utilizes the back rail system or the only ones that you recommend, really?

Shaun: Those are the only two that use it and the only two I recommend. You could go for their cheap version, which is the Flex. But honestly, you're going to want one of the other ones. Let me know if you have any other questions!

What's the Best Mat For The Bed of My 2018 GMC Crew Cab?

GMC Owner: Hey. I'm calling you about a couple of items I'm looking to buy for my truck.

Peter: Okay. What are you looking for?

GMC Owner: For the bed mat, there's an impact mat for the 2018 GMC Crew Cab, short bed 5'8".

Peter: Okay. Were you looking at the bed rug?

GMC Owner: Well, when I was looking it was made by Bed Rug but it's an impact mat. It's a mat. It's a rug.

Peter: Right. Okay.

GMC Owner: It covers your tailgate and the bed.

Peter: Do you want the full liner that covers everything or just the bottom of the bed and the tailgate?

GMC Owner: I think just the bottom and the tailgate.

Peter: Okay, got you. Let me see. And you said it's a short bed?

GMC Owner: Yes, 5'8".

Peter: Okay. Let's see. Okay. Yeah, I've got the XLT impact. It covers the bottom of the bed and the tailgate. I've got that with free shipping and no sales tax.

GMC Owner: Okay. My tonneau cover, that BAKFlip is supposed to be here this Thursday. I ordered it here last week and some floor mats, WeatherTech. I got those. They fit great.

Peter: Glad to hear it.

GMC Owner: I've also got a need for mud flaps. WeatherTech No-Drill is what I've been looking at. Go ahead and add those two.

Peter: Okay, give me just a moment. I'm just getting these part numbers in here. So, we've got the WeatherTech mud flaps and the bed rug impact bed liner for the bottom of the bed and the tailgate. You'll get an email confirmation here in just a second, and I'll get these on the way for you.

GMC Owner: All right. One other thing I wanted to ask you about, Peter, if you've got a minute.

Peter: Yeah.

GMC Owner: I didn't see it on your website is under-seat storage or the back seat.

Peter: Okay. So, the Du-Ha is a really popular option. It's a really good product.

GMC Owner: Okay, yeah. I might have to wait on that, but I'd like to have that. I see it on here. Du-Ha.

Peter: Sure. I'll get everything else shipped out. Have a good one.

If I Finance a Tonneau Cover, Do I Have to Finance the Entire Amount?

Tonneau Cover Customer: I had a question about the financing for a tonneau cover. If I finance, do I have to finance the entire amount or can I make a down payment on it and make the payment smaller?

Sean: You know, we can definitely do that. I'd have to split it into two orders but I could do that for you.

Tonneau Cover Customer: Okay. All right. Yeah, I was wondering through that for sure because I'd like to just make my payment smaller, I have cash right now. I was going to buy a used one, for an older model truck, and they sold it. So I'm looking to spend that money on something like that.

Sean: Okay.

Tonneau Cover Customer: I'm still going to talk to my wife about it real quick. I just wanted to get some information about that. I thought I had another question. How long does it take to deliver it? I can't remember off the top of my head right now.

Sean: Was it a folding one? A rolling one?

Tonneau Cover Customer: It was a low profile, hard bottom, soft top, I guess, tri-fold. Peter was saying is probably one of the most popular ones that you guys sell.

Sean: Oh, okay. Yeah, BAKFlip probably. That ships usually within 48 hours. and based on where you are located you're looking at three days transit time.

Tonneau Cover Customer: Okay, yeah. We've got to get it through before my vacation, so I'm going to try and time it a little better, maybe I can go a little bit more money together before the down payment and stuff like that.

Sean: Okay, yeah, man, call us when you're ready.
