If I Finance a Tonneau Cover, Do I Have to Finance the Entire Amount?
Tonneau Cover Customer: I had a question about the financing for a tonneau cover. If I finance, do I have to finance the entire amount or can I make a down payment on it and make the payment smaller?Sean: You know, we can definitely do that. I'd have to split it into two orders but I could do that for you.
Tonneau Cover Customer: Okay. All right. Yeah, I was wondering through that for sure because I'd like to just make my payment smaller, I have cash right now. I was going to buy a used one, for an older model truck, and they sold it. So I'm looking to spend that money on something like that.
Tonneau Cover Customer: I'm still going to talk to my wife about it real quick. I just wanted to get some information about that. I thought I had another question. How long does it take to deliver it? I can't remember off the top of my head right now.Sean: Was it a folding one? A rolling one?
Tonneau Cover Customer: It was a low profile, hard bottom, soft top, I guess, tri-fold. Peter was saying is probably one of the most popular ones that you guys sell.Sean: Oh, okay. Yeah, BAKFlip probably. That ships usually within 48 hours. and based on where you are located you're looking at three days transit time.
Tonneau Cover Customer: Okay, yeah. We've got to get it through before my vacation, so I'm going to try and time it a little better, maybe I can go a little bit more money together before the down payment and stuff like that.Sean: Okay, yeah, man, call us when you're ready.
What Tonneau Cover Has The Best T-Slot Functionality for a Ford F-150?
Ford F-150 Owner: I was originally considering a RetraxPRO. However, the other cover I was looking at, and I know it can be a little bit of a pain if you go pick up something big and you don't think about it ahead of time, was the Undercover RIDGELANDER. Which basically would almost look like the Retrax on the car because it has the same T-Track System for rack assemblies. On the Undercover, how difficult is it to remove? I've been trying to find a video of somebody actually taking the cover off.Shawn: I'll tell you that I actually worked for UnderCover for almost a decade. And they came out with that cover, and it's the biggest pain to remove. And it takes the longest to put it on. It's a beautiful cover, it works really well, strong, but it is not very friendly when it comes to removing it, unfortunately.
Ford F-150 Owner: Okay. Because I didn't know if there was like one bolt on each side, you undo that, and the thing just kind of slides off?Shawn: What you're looking for then mainly is that T-slot functionality as well?
Ford F-150 Owner: That's kind of what I was looking at because we like to throw bikes up on top. I've got a cover that used to go on top of like a Suburban when they had it, one of the boxes. And having it on top if we've got stuff in the bottom and the top from that standpoint.Shawn: Well you know they have a promotion right now on the Retrax XR?
Ford F-150 Owner: Correct that you get the free rails, which is like a $400 value?Shawn: Have you seen the A.R.E "Double Cover?" What it is, is it's essentially a rolling cover and a one-piece all in one.
Ford F-150 Owner: I mean I've seen it. To me, that would almost be the worst of both worlds, because I think you're going to lose rigidity. Or you're going to have a bar that goes all the way across the tailgate. Because otherwise you've got two bars that are coming out with the cover. From a waterproofing standpoint, I don't think that would be worse than the Retrax or any of the other ones from that standpoint. Because you're dealing with multiple points of intrusion now that are not necessarily attached.Shawn: Got you. Yeah.
Ford F-150 Owner: Now out of the rolling covers, you prefer the Retrax to the others?Shawn: Yeah. It's a lot better quality than like a Roll-N-Lock or something of that nature.
Ford F-150 Owner: Or Pace Edwards or the Truck Covers USA.
Shawn: Right, exactly. Yeah.
Ford F-150 Owner: All right. You've answered all my questions. Thank you very much, sir.
Shawn: You got it. Did you want to go ahead and place that with me today?
Ford F-150 Owner: No. Let me talk to my wife tonight just to get everything approved. We've been talking about it, but I don't think it will be an issue. I'll give you a buzz tomorrow.
Shawn: It sounds good, man. Have a good night
What's the Best Hard & Soft Tonneau Cover for a 2001 Ford F150 with an Extended Cab?
Ford F150 Owner: I was just calling about a tonneau cover, just to see what kinds you offer.Peter: Okay. What truck is it for?
Ford F150 Owner: It's a 2001 Ford F150. It's an extended cab model.Peter: Okay. And what type cover are you looking at?
Ford F150 Owner: I was kind of inquiring about a hardtop cover, the folding type.Peter: We do, yeah. My least expensive hard folding cover is going to be the BAKFlip G2. It's free shipping and no sales tax if you're outside of Arizona.
Ford F150 Owner: Okay, so the G2 is the least expensive hard cover, you say?Peter: It is.
Ford F150 Owner: Okay. Now what is the most popular tonneau cover that you all pretty much really sell?Peter: That's one of them.
Ford F150 Owner: Okay. Is the BAKFlip G2 somewhere on the site? That way I can look at it and see how it looks?Peter: Yeah, it's on the website.
Ford F150 Owner: And the website is tonneaucovered.com, right?Peter: That's right.
Ford F150 Owner: What is the next grade under a hardtop? Do you have a soft hard top?Peter: We have a soft folding cover by Extang.
Ford F150 Owner: Yeah. How is that cover?
Peter: It's pretty good.
Ford F150 Owner: Is that Extang cover durable as well?Peter: It is.
Ford F150 Owner: And what warranty do these covers come with?Peter: The hard is two years, and the soft is actually a lifetime.
Ford F150 Owner: And the soft cover, now what is that one called? I'm going to take a look at that one, too.Peter: Yeah. That's called the Extang Trifecta 2.0.
Ford F150 Owner: Now is this Trifecta dual bolt, just like the BAKFlip one? Like leak-wise and durable?Peter: Yes.
Ford F150 Owner: Well, let me take a look at these different covers on your website then, and then I will go from there. I'll definitely be calling you back.
Peter: Sounds good
