What's The Difference Between Roll N Lock's A Series M Series & E Series Tonneau Covers?

Toyota Tundra Owner: I just received an email from you about a Roll-N-Lock cover. And I need more information.

Peter: Okay.

Toyota Tundra Owner: I've got a Toyota Tundra, crew cab, five and a half foot bed. I see that you've got the M series, the A series and the E series. What are the primary differences? Just the vinyl over the aluminum, and powder-coated?

Peter: Yeah, so they're very similar except the M series is the vinyl over the aluminum. The A series is just the all powder-coated aluminum and then the E series is the aluminum with electric retractable. It's electric-powered, yeah.

Toyota Tundra Owner: Okay. Now, no, I don't need electric at all. Actually, I've never had a vinyl cover on a truck before. I've always owned a truck, but I've never had a cover like that. And I got this new one and I'm thinking I want to do this. What is your opinion of the Roll-N-Lock versus the tri-fold?

Peter: Well, I mean I like the hard covers just because you get more security, obviously. The retractables are great, but they're just super heavy duty. One thing to think about is that a retractable has a canister that the cover slot, that the cover retracts into, and that sits down in the bed and that takes up about 10 inches by 10 inches by the width of the bed. So you're going lose some space in there. If that's a concern, then the hard folding covers, like the back-flip covers, might be a good option because it gives you full bed access when you need to.

Toyota Tundra Owner: I see. Okay, so you're saying that the Roll-N-Lock has that ... It actually takes up part of my bed?

Peter: Yes. It rolls into a canister that sits down inside the bed, behind the cab. Like right at the front of the bed. So you're going to lose a little bit of bed space there.

Toyota Tundra Owner: Okay. A question, does that go all the way down to the bed itself?

Peter: It doesn't. You're going to have some space underneath, but it does go the full width of the bed.

Toyota Tundra Owner: Okay. Well, the reason I'm questioning is, with the bed that I've got, I can put my seven-foot rods caddy-corner and they fit. My rods and reels, fishing rods, and they fit but if I lost any space right down at the bottom of the ... on the bed, on the bottom of the bed itself, then I would not be able to do that.

Peter: No, you should be fine with rods. You're going to have enough room for those. Definitely.

What's the Best Tonneau Cover That's Waterproof and Secure for a 2017 GMC Canyon?

GMC Owner: I wanted to touch base with you. Got a 2017 GMC Canyon Duramax long bed and I don't really know about if there's advantages of the different tonneau covers. But I've got a GMC bedliner that's kind of a plastic one and there's a cover over the edge of the bed as well as the tailgate. I'm sure that probably has an impact on the installation or whatever needs to happen for the tonneau cover.

Peter: Yeah.

GMC Owner: So why don't you give the low down...here's what I'm looking for in terms of a tonneau cover. I want something that's going to, as you mentioned, keep things dry. But I also want something that's not going to be sliceable with a knife. Basically, what's the best waterproof cover that is also good on security?

Peter: So, you're going to want a hardcover.

GMC Owner: Yeah. Because my friends and I, if we go golfing, there'd be four bags of golf clubs when we go to the restaurant or something like that afterwards. And the last thing we need is expensive clubs disappearing.

Peter: Of course, yeah. So, by far the most popular is going to be the BAKFlip MX4. We sell more of those than anything. It's super well reviewed, it's very water resistant. When your tailgate is locked, the cover is locked and secure. And it sits flush inside the bedrail so it's got that really low-profile appearance. That's a really good option. And it's a tri fold, but it can fold completely.

GMC Owner: Is it complicated to install? I think I watched a video on that last night, if it's the same one.

Peter: It's real straight forward. Probably takes 30 minutes. Just clamp the rails on, get the drain tubes in and you're done. It's real simple.

GMC Owner: Okay. So, in order to order that, what do? Just contact you on the phone or is that how we do it?

Peter: Yeah, just give me a call and then we'll get it in for shipping and get it on the way.

GMC Owner: All right, and is this a discounted price? Or is this what?

Peter: It is. I think it's the lowest price anywhere by an authorized dealer. I mean, you can just Google it and see. But I'm beating most places by at least $100. So just give me a call when you're ready.

What is the Most Popular Hard Folding Cover for a 2017 Ford F-250 with a 6'9 Bed?

F-250 Owner: Hey, I got your message here. I was looking at a bed cover for a 2017 Ford F-250 with a 6'9 bed.

Peter: Okay, got it. And which cover were we looking at?

F-250 Owner: I kind of like the BAKFlips.

Peter: Okay. Do you know which model?

F-250 Owner: The hard folding one, I know that. I don't remember what model it is, but I do know I want it to be a hard cover that folds for sure.

Peter: Yeah, they make a few of those, but the most popular hard folding cover is going to be the BAKFlip MX4. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

F-250 Owner: Okay. Yeah, cause you have been emailing me a little bit back on them, and you quoted me a price already. But that's just probably a little more than I want to spend right now on a one.

Peter: Okay. The BAKFlip G2 is a little bit less expensive. I will send you a price quote right now.

F-250 Owner: Okay. Yeah. What's your best price you can do on both of those covers?

Peter: Those are my best prices.

F-250 Owner: Do they still make the VP?

Peter: They might still make it, but we do not sell it anymore. They were having some issues with it, so we stopped selling it.

F-250 Owner: All right. Let me give this some thought. Like I said, I'm not sure what I have to spend on one right now.

Peter: Okay. Yeah. Let me know.

What Other Tonneau Cover Brand is Similar to the Gator Tri-Fold?

F-150 Owner: Hey Peter, I have some questions about a tonneau cover for a Ford F-150 2018 XLT.

Peter: Okay, which tonneau cover were you looking at?

F-150 Owner: I don't know, I want pricing. I don't know if you can send it via email.

Peter: Okay, do you know which one you're interested in?

F-150 Owner: I like the Gator tonneau covers, but I don't know if you have similar and cheaper than that.

Peter: So that's one of the brands we do not sell, unfortunately. I can send you pricing on something similar though. Are you looking for a soft roll-up cover?

F-150 Owner: The tri-fold.

Peter: Okay, the only soft tri-fold I have is gonna be the Extang Trifecta 2.0. It has a lifetime warranty and I just emailed you the price. It's free shipping, and there's no sales tax.

F-150 Owner: Okay, so can I use that link in my email to check out if I want?

Peter: Yes.

F-150 Owner: Okay, if you have something else, you can send me the other ones to check it out to buy.

Peter: Will do.

What's the Best Hard & Soft Tonneau Cover for a 2001 Ford F150 with an Extended Cab?

Ford F150 Owner: I was just calling about a tonneau cover, just to see what kinds you offer.

Peter: Okay. What truck is it for?

Ford F150 Owner: It's a 2001 Ford F150. It's an extended cab model.

Peter: Okay. And what type cover are you looking at?

Ford F150 Owner: I was kind of inquiring about a hardtop cover, the folding type.

Peter: We do, yeah. My least expensive hard folding cover is going to be the BAKFlip G2. It's free shipping and no sales tax if you're outside of Arizona.

Ford F150 Owner: Okay, so the G2 is the least expensive hard cover, you say?

Peter: It is.

Ford F150 Owner: Okay. Now what is the most popular tonneau cover that you all pretty much really sell?

Peter: That's one of them.

Ford F150 Owner: Okay. Is the BAKFlip G2 somewhere on the site? That way I can look at it and see how it looks?

Peter: Yeah, it's on the website.

Ford F150 Owner: And the website is tonneaucovered.com, right?

Peter: That's right.

Ford F150 Owner: What is the next grade under a hardtop? Do you have a soft hard top?

Peter: We have a soft folding cover by Extang.

Ford F150 Owner: Yeah. How is that cover?

Peter: It's pretty good.

Ford F150 Owner: Is that Extang cover durable as well?

Peter: It is.

Ford F150 Owner: And what warranty do these covers come with?

Peter: The hard is two years, and the soft is actually a lifetime.

Ford F150 Owner: And the soft cover, now what is that one called? I'm going to take a look at that one, too.

Peter: Yeah. That's called the Extang Trifecta 2.0.

Ford F150 Owner: Now is this Trifecta dual bolt, just like the BAKFlip one? Like leak-wise and durable?

Peter: Yes.

Ford F150 Owner: Well, let me take a look at these different covers on your website then, and then I will go from there. I'll definitely be calling you back.

Peter: Sounds good

What's the Best Tonneau Cover for a a 2019 Chevy Silverado with crew cab and a 5 foot, 8 inch bed?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I just got a 2019 Chevy Silverado with the crew cab with a 5 foot, 8 inch bed and I sent an email request last night to find out about tonneau covers

Peter: Okay. Which cover are you looking at?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I'm looking for a hard top, a foldable hard top. I want it to have a little bit more security.

Peter: Was there a particular brand or model you were looking at?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I've looked at a few online... I want to say it was a Gator.

Peter: Okay. Gator's, one of the only brands we don't sell. As, far as hard folding covers the most popular are going to be the BakFlip models. They're tri-folds but they can fold completely up out of the bed and secure behind the cab. So you'll have full use of your bed when you need too. They're very versatile.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Let's see, I think that was maybe one of the ones I was looking at; the BAKFlip G2 tonneau cover. That's what I'm looking at right now. So yeah that hard folding that's probably what I'm going to get, for pricing that's probably definitely what I was looking for.

Peter: Ok, great!

Chevy Silverado Owner: It's not a bad price from what I've seen anyways, quite a bit of difference. Let me, do you guys do financing too?

Peter: Yes.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay, so that's probably the best way for me to get it so I won't be paying for that outright. Alright, Peter let me give you a call back in a little bit, let me figure out what's going on. I should be able to do something this week.

Peter: Okay let me know.
