How Do I Know if I Need Wide Rail, Standard Rails or Standard Rails With Stake Pocket Cut Outs on my Retrax Cover for my 2016 Chevy High Country?

Chevy Owner: I got a quote from you guys for Retrax.

Shawn: Okay. Are you looking to place an order?

Chevy Owner: Yeah. Just got to make sure I'm getting the right one from you.

Shawn: Chevy Owner, what kind of truck do you have, my friend?

Chevy Owner: A 2016 Chevy High Country 2500.

Shawn: Okay. And you want the Pro Series?

Chevy Owner: No. Just the regular one.

Shawn: Just the one? Okay. MX or shiny?

Chevy Owner: The flatter looking one.

Shawn: Okay, matte black? And then wide rail, standard rails or standard rails with stake pocket cut-outs?

Chevy Owner: So, that's where I'm not sure what I need, to be honest with you.

Shawn: Okay. Well, let me ask you this, do you use your stake pockets for anything?

Chevy Owner: No. I guess I don't really have any use for stake pockets.

Shawn: Do you care if the rail doesn't cover your truck bed rails entirely?

Chevy Owner: No, I really don't care if the bed rails are covered. Actually, the little pocket holes there I do sometimes try to use them for tie downs. So, I mean, I guess if they're not covered that'd be better for me.

Shawn: Yeah. It is a little bit more for the cut-outs, but to be honest with you, you can do it with a dremel in your garage.

Chevy Owner: Yeah. Let's just... yeah, I'll stick with the regular one. It's fine.

Shawn: Okay.

Chevy Owner: I have tie down points in the bed, too, and all over the place. So, I'm good.

Shawn: Yeah, you won't void your warranty on your cover either because it's just the rails, so.

Chevy Owner: Okay. Let's go ahead and do it.

Shawn: Very cool. Everything's good to go. I will place this with Retrax now and you should see it within five to seven business days.

Will a Retrax XR With Wide Rails Look Better on My 2018 Chevy Silverado Than Standard Rails?

Silverado Owner: Yeah, hi. I'm trying to buy a Retrax bed cover from you guys.

Shaun: Okay, did you want the aluminum version, or which one are you looking at?

Silverado Owner: The aluminum one, I have the part number, but I got two different part numbers, and I want to know which is the best one.

Shaun: What do you got man?

Silverado Owner: I got the 8461 and the 8471.

Shaun: Okay, so the 8461 is going to be the Retrax Pro MX, without the stake pocket holes.

Silverado Owner: Okay that's a bit weird. Oh you know what, it is the 460 I'm sorry, not the 461. That's got the cut out pockets right, the 460?

Shaun: Okay, yeah 460, the 460 does, and what did you say 471?

Silverado Owner: 471. Yes

Shaun: Yeah 471. It has the wide rails.

Silverado Owner: Oh, I see, but it doesn't have the cut out pockets?

Shaun: No, they are meant to cover the whole rail, so that way then, it takes away where its cut half way down the rail. But let me tell you about something real quick. What do you use your truck for?

Silverado Owner: I don't use it much, the truck most of the time its parked, but you know whenever I go somewhere everything should stay locked in place, you know what I mean?

Shaun: Well, let me ask you man. Do you use kayaks or surfboards or fishing poles or anything?

Silverado Owner: I don't, I don't use any of that stuff, I don't think I need cut out pockets.

Shaun: Well no. I was going to tell you that, you know, you're looking at the Retrax Pro, and I'm guessing the matte black version? But they have a new one that is the Retrax XR, and that one has different rails where it has a T slot in it. Right now they are giving away Yakima load bars. Um, I don't know if you have heard of Yakima?

Silverado Owner: You know what, I've seen them in pictures. Like, yeah. I think I know what you are talking about. But that price is a lot more, right?

Shaun: No, no, that's why I'm telling you because right now they are giving those away. That's $550 value, and the cover is only $100 more than the MX. They both come with a lifetime warranty.

Silverado Owner: Now I got three choices.

Shaun: Yeah, see, you thought I was trying to sell you, but I was looking out for you.

Silverado Owner: I didn't know about the wide rails. You think it would look better than the other ones?

Shaun: I think the covers are awesome I'll tell you that much, but as far as the wide rails go, yeah it would make it look more flush, more finished.

Silverado Owner: There we go, okay ... if it covers the whole thing, yes. What about price-wise, they are pretty much the same, right?

Shaun: What's the truck details?

Silverado Owner: It's a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a short bed

Shaun: It's just an extra 100 bucks for the wide rails.

Silverado Owner: Oh man that sounds pretty good.

Shaun: Yes sir, we actually order directly from them in North Dakota. They will build your cover to order, and they'll ship it out to you within 48 to 72 hours.

Silverado Owner: Okay, so you recommend the wide rails, right, they are better, they look better?

Shaun: Yeah, I think between that one and the standard rails they do look better because they fill more of your truck bed rails out. It looks better. It covers the stake pocket hole entirely. If you are never going to use it, you don't need it.

Silverado Owner: There we go. Okay. Well to order it, do I have to do it online, or how do I do this?

Shaun: You can call me or I can send you an order right now that will include a link that you can click whenever you are ready to purchase.

Silverado Owner: Go ahead and do that for me.

Shaun: All right man. It's on its way. Should you need anything else, let us know, or if you need any help let me know too.

What's the Price Difference for Wide Rails on a Retrax Pro MX for a 2013 Dodge Ram 2500?

Dodge Owner: You emailed me on a Retrax bedcover for my Dodge.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: It was a Retrax Pro MX.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: I just called the number on the email. It said that the Retrax has 20% off or something like that for a special savings event or something like that.

Peter: Yeah. Did we send you a quote yet?

Dodge Owner: You sent me a quote. That one came in first, then the email after that came in a few hours later about the sales event. So I don't know if that was applied to both.

Peter: What truck is it for?

Dodge Owner: The 2013 Dodge Ram 2500.

Peter: Okay.

Dodge Owner: Six and a half foot bed.

Peter: Okay I just sent you the quote including that discount. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering it from outside of Arizona.

Dodge Owner: Okay. What about, how much more for the, they call it the wide rails?

Peter: Wide rails is just $40 more.

Dodge Owner: Okay. Okay, so the quote you gave me was pretty much the accurate quote. It just came in after the other email I guess. Is that the sale price?

Peter: It is. What I sent was the sale price.

Dodge Owner: Okay. And you're an authorized dealer and all the stuff as far as warranty goes and everything?

Peter: Yes, absolutely.

Does the RetraxPRO MX Make a Wide Rails Cover For the New Chevy Body Style?

Silverado Owner: I'm calling today to check on a Tonneau cover, a Retrax.

Peter: Okay. What model was it?

Silverado Owner: It's a RetraxPRO MX. You sent me a price quote in my email.

Peter: The matte finish?

Silverado Owner: Yeah, the matte finish. Yes, sir.

Peter: What truck was it for?

Silverado Owner: It was for a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado.

Peter: Okay. What was the bed length?

Silverado Owner: It's a short bed.

Peter: Okay. So I've got the RetraxPRO MX in stock. It's free shipping, and there's no sales tax.

Silverado Owner: And was that price for the wide rail for the Chevy?

Peter: No, that's not the wide rail. The wide rail would be $40 more. With the wide rails it increases the price on it.

Silverado Owner: Okay. It is the 2019 short bed, but did I mention it's a new body style?

Peter: Actually, and I apologize for the confusion, but for the new body style they actually do not make the wide rails.

Silverado Owner: Oh, they don't make the wide rails?

Peter: Right.

Silverado Owner: Okay. Well, I'm trying to figure out how it would work. It would just cover up half the stake hole?

Peter: That's right.

Silverado Owner: That's kind of weird. Do they make something that's cut ... I don't know what to do. What would you suggest if they don't ... Would you have something cut out for the stake, or do they make that, too?

Peter: They do not make that for the new body style.

Silverado Owner: So what it's going to do is cover up half the stake hole. That's kind of weird though, isn't it?

Peter: It actually doesn't look that bad. It looks fine. You aren't really going to notice.

Silverado Owner: Let me try this. Yeah, let's go ahead and get that order in for the standard RetraxPRO MX.

Peter: Okay. So I'm going to get this shipped out right now. Give me just a second here. Okay.

Silverado Owner: And that comes with the seals, the back bed auto grade seal, all that stuff?

Peter: That's right. And I'm getting it in for shipping right now. There we go. I've confirmed it, so you're good to go.
