How Do I Order the RetraxPRO XR With the T-slot Integrated Rails for My 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Peter: I just got your email here. I just saw you placed your order a few minutes ago for the RetraxPRO

Tonneau Covered Customer: Yes.

Peter: You were wanting the RetraxPRO XR with the T-slot integrated rails?

Tonneau Covered Customer: Yeah. I thought the it had that. It was a slip or whatever on my end.

Peter: Okay, no problem. Give me just a second here. So the price is it's a hundred dollars more for the XR. Is that okay?

Tonneau Covered Customer: That's fine. Yeah.

Peter: Okay. Give me just a second here. Okay, and it was for, was an 2018 Silverado short bed?

Tonneau Covered Customer: Yes. Can you do the adjustment on your end, or do you got to resend that over to invoice me?

Peter: No, I can take care of it here real quick.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay, great. Appreciate the help. That's the same cover just with the rails for the cliffs?

Peter: That's right.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Yeah. Yep. Perfect.

What's The Difference Between the Standard & Xtreme AMP Research Power Steps for a 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Silverado Owner: I'm interested in some AMP Research steps. I was looking at here the standard model or the Xtreme. I just wanted to know what the difference was as far as material and the product in general, and then also is there a difference in the warranty between the two?

Shawn: Let's see here. What kind of truck is it going on?

Silverado Owner: 2018 Silverado. Crew cab.

Shawn: So the Plug-N-Play and the Xtreme...

Silverado Owner: Yeah. I would just do the standard installment not the Plug-N-Play. I want it hard wired.

Shawn: I'm looking here. So they give you a 5 year sixty thousand mile warranty, 3 year thirty six thousand mile warranty. Let me look at the Xtreme and see what they say.

Silverado Owner: Okay. I thought it said 3 year but then I saw 5 years.

Shawn: 3 year warranty. Hold on. 5 year sixty thousand miles. All defects on the materials or workmanship on select AMP products properly installed per provided instructions except those listed under the 3 year warranty ... it's not really clear on which one it is.

Silverado Owner: Right. Okay. I just got to decide then what's the difference between the Xtreme and the other. Is it a stronger motor is it a different material? You know, those types of things. It doesn't really go into detail on their website.

Shawn: The Xtreme ... let's see here. I know its heavier duty.

Silverado Owner: Okay. As far as the mounting, it mounts the same way? Not like the LX where it has that rocker panel cover?

Shawn: Correct.

Silverado Owner: Okay. So it mounts like the standard one?

Shawn: Right. I should know this off the top of my head. I do apologize.

Silverado Owner: That's okay. Not a problem.

Shawn: Dual motor option. And then yeah, its just heavier duty. The ends are heavier duty, the track itself has more grip to it, the step itself.

Silverado Owner: That's probably the better way to go then.

Shawn: Yeah. I would say. All weather functioning, hard working constructions for superb traction. Let me see if my supplier has them. I don't know if you're ready or not but let me see if they have them just so you know and I know ... and they would be on back order of course.

Silverado Owner: Yeah. Why don't we get those ordered up. Can you send me an email so I can check out when I get home?

Shawn: Absolutely.

What's The Best Roll Up Tonneau Cover That Sits on Top of the Rails for a 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Chevy Owner: Hey Peter. I just bought a 2018 Chevy Silverado, a quad cab pickup and I'm looking to put a Tonneau cover on it. It has a 6'5 bed

Peter: Okay.

Chevy Owner: This is what I'm looking for. So Chevy doesn't have like the under rail clamps? It doesn't go all the way to the back are you aware of that? You can't put a clamp under the rail all the way back towards the tailgate cause there's about a foot error that just won't allow you to put a clamp.

Peter: Right.

Chevy Owner: So the last Tonneau cover I had on my 2013 kind of stuck up a little bit in the back cause you couldn't get a clamp on it. So I don't know if there's something specific for Chevy and as far as mounting. And then the other thing I'm looking for is I want it to sit up just a little bit higher. The last one I had was very flush with the rails on the bed, but sometimes I put garbage cans in the back. I lay them down. So on my Ford F-250 I had, it was raised up a little bit and when I laid the garbage cans in there I could still roll the Tonneau cover out and secure it, and you couldn't tell that there was garbage cans in the back.

Peter: Okay. So are you wanting a hard cover?

Chevy Owner: No, I want to be able to roll it up.

Peter: Okay, so a soft roll cover, probably the most popular, the best quality is going to be the TruXedo Lo Pro. That one does sit a little more low profile though. So I'm thinking maybe the TruXedo TruXport that sits up on top of the bed rails, and that's a really popular option as well. That's got a five year warranty. It's free shipping, and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Chevy Owner: Okay. Yeah. Let's do that.

Peter: Okay. So we've got the TruXedo TruXport for the 2018 Silverado 1500 six and a half foot bed. Allow about five to seven days for delivery on this. You're going to receive a email confirmation here in just a second. You're good to go!

Will a Retrax XR With Wide Rails Look Better on My 2018 Chevy Silverado Than Standard Rails?

Silverado Owner: Yeah, hi. I'm trying to buy a Retrax bed cover from you guys.

Shaun: Okay, did you want the aluminum version, or which one are you looking at?

Silverado Owner: The aluminum one, I have the part number, but I got two different part numbers, and I want to know which is the best one.

Shaun: What do you got man?

Silverado Owner: I got the 8461 and the 8471.

Shaun: Okay, so the 8461 is going to be the Retrax Pro MX, without the stake pocket holes.

Silverado Owner: Okay that's a bit weird. Oh you know what, it is the 460 I'm sorry, not the 461. That's got the cut out pockets right, the 460?

Shaun: Okay, yeah 460, the 460 does, and what did you say 471?

Silverado Owner: 471. Yes

Shaun: Yeah 471. It has the wide rails.

Silverado Owner: Oh, I see, but it doesn't have the cut out pockets?

Shaun: No, they are meant to cover the whole rail, so that way then, it takes away where its cut half way down the rail. But let me tell you about something real quick. What do you use your truck for?

Silverado Owner: I don't use it much, the truck most of the time its parked, but you know whenever I go somewhere everything should stay locked in place, you know what I mean?

Shaun: Well, let me ask you man. Do you use kayaks or surfboards or fishing poles or anything?

Silverado Owner: I don't, I don't use any of that stuff, I don't think I need cut out pockets.

Shaun: Well no. I was going to tell you that, you know, you're looking at the Retrax Pro, and I'm guessing the matte black version? But they have a new one that is the Retrax XR, and that one has different rails where it has a T slot in it. Right now they are giving away Yakima load bars. Um, I don't know if you have heard of Yakima?

Silverado Owner: You know what, I've seen them in pictures. Like, yeah. I think I know what you are talking about. But that price is a lot more, right?

Shaun: No, no, that's why I'm telling you because right now they are giving those away. That's $550 value, and the cover is only $100 more than the MX. They both come with a lifetime warranty.

Silverado Owner: Now I got three choices.

Shaun: Yeah, see, you thought I was trying to sell you, but I was looking out for you.

Silverado Owner: I didn't know about the wide rails. You think it would look better than the other ones?

Shaun: I think the covers are awesome I'll tell you that much, but as far as the wide rails go, yeah it would make it look more flush, more finished.

Silverado Owner: There we go, okay ... if it covers the whole thing, yes. What about price-wise, they are pretty much the same, right?

Shaun: What's the truck details?

Silverado Owner: It's a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 with a short bed

Shaun: It's just an extra 100 bucks for the wide rails.

Silverado Owner: Oh man that sounds pretty good.

Shaun: Yes sir, we actually order directly from them in North Dakota. They will build your cover to order, and they'll ship it out to you within 48 to 72 hours.

Silverado Owner: Okay, so you recommend the wide rails, right, they are better, they look better?

Shaun: Yeah, I think between that one and the standard rails they do look better because they fill more of your truck bed rails out. It looks better. It covers the stake pocket hole entirely. If you are never going to use it, you don't need it.

Silverado Owner: There we go. Okay. Well to order it, do I have to do it online, or how do I do this?

Shaun: You can call me or I can send you an order right now that will include a link that you can click whenever you are ready to purchase.

Silverado Owner: Go ahead and do that for me.

Shaun: All right man. It's on its way. Should you need anything else, let us know, or if you need any help let me know too.

Do I Have to Drill Into the Bed of My 2018 Chevy Silverado to Install Drain Tubes for My BAKFlip MX4?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I spoke to you about two to three weeks ago about a BAKFlip MX4. I'm sure you don't remember that, but that's okay.

Peter: Okay. What truck do you have?

Chevy Silverado Owner: A 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

Peter: Okay. Gotcha. Yep, I've got it here. It's a bit more than last time we talked, but it's still free shipping and there's no sales tax.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. Well, I should have ordered it last time then.

Peter: Yeah, unfortunately our costs went up recently.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. How about the swing out compartment box thing. That was free like a week ago.

Peter: Yeah, that rebate is ended.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Oh my goodness. All right, but here's the whole reason I didn't order earlier was because I was worried about the drains. When I watched the installation video, it shows drilling through this big plastic plug in the bed of the truck. They show it on, I think it's the F150.

Peter: Right.

Chevy Silverado Owner: My truck doesn't have that plastic plug. Where is that drain line supposed to go?

Peter: I don't know. Every truck's a little bit different. If there are no holes leading out of the bed, you would have to drill. Otherwise, more water would get in if the drain tubes weren't installed.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. Yeah, because I was thinking that I keep it in the garage. So it would only be in the rain if I'm out and it's raining and then it would be sitting somewhere while I'm in a store, in a restaurant, something like that while it's raining.

Peter: Right. There are a couple of other covers out there, hard-covers, that don't require the draining tubes. Like, for example, the BAK makes a Revolver X4. It's a hard roll-up cover. That one does not need drain tubes. And then, the X10 Solid Fold 2.0 is a hard tri-fold cover. That one doesn't need drain tubes either.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Do both of those sit flush?

Peter: The Revolver X4 does, but the X10 does not. That sits up on top the bed rails.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. So it's Revolver X4?

Peter: Yeah and it's made by BAK and it's a little cheaper than the MX4.

Chevy Silverado Owner: The MX4... I've really, really had my eye on that one ever since you turned me on to it. You know. Now is the MX4, there's no way to like to plug the drain holes and let it run out the back end?

Peter: Yeah, I mean you can attempt to do that. I mean I know guys that have done that before. But, like I said, it is still going to allow a little bit of water to get in here and there. But yeah, you can plug them. I mean that's always an option.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Then I might have to wait until one of these deals comes back around with that storage box because I have trailer hitches and stuff like that. That would be perfect to keep it all in.

Peter: Yeah. Okay. Well just check in with us and we do deals every month or two.

Where Can I Find the Best Price on a BAK Revolver X4 for a 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Silverado Owner: Hey you sent me a quote on a bed cover. I was going to check into it and see what exactly it'll cost me to get a tonneau cover. The BAK Revolver X4. I didn't know if you could quote me on it.

Peter: X4, What truck is it for?

Silverado Owner: It's a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

Peter: Okay. I sent you a new quote for that one just now. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax, if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Silverado Owner: Okay. I'm calling and just asking around, but this price is a lot better than anywhere else around.

Peter: That's right.

Silverado Owner: This isn't a scam right? It's real?

Peter: It's real. We're known for our pricing. We're typically the lowest on tonneau covers.

Silverado Owner: Okay. Because I like you, and I mean that is a good price. It's the best price I've foundona Revolver X4. Let me go ahead and do it.

Peter: Ok, great!
