Do the AMP Research Power Steps Require an Override Switch?

Tonneau Covered Customer: Hey Peter, can you give me price and availability of AMP running boards, part number 75142-01A?

Peter: Okay. Let me take a look here. Okay. Yeah, these would have to drop ship from the manufacturer. Price on them, I've got, let's see. I just emailed you a price quote, but it would probably take about two weeks to receive them.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay. Now, is there any shipping charge?

Peter: No. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay. And now, does it also require, like an override switch? And also, is there a wire harness that you need over and above the wiring that they give you?

Peter: No. It comes with everything you're going to need to get these in.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay. What about the override switch though?

Peter: It doesn't require it. Let me see. I'm not even sure if we carry the switches anymore. Let me double check here. Yeah, we do not carry the switches anymore.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay. What does that switch actually do?

Peter: So the manual override switch basically makes it where if you didn't want them to deploy for whatever reason you could still open your door without having them deploy.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay. Because otherwise, every time you open the door the running board is going to come down, right?

Peter: That's right.

Tonneau Covered Customer: Okay, let me get back to you on these.

What's The Difference Between the Standard & Xtreme AMP Research Power Steps for a 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Silverado Owner: I'm interested in some AMP Research steps. I was looking at here the standard model or the Xtreme. I just wanted to know what the difference was as far as material and the product in general, and then also is there a difference in the warranty between the two?

Shawn: Let's see here. What kind of truck is it going on?

Silverado Owner: 2018 Silverado. Crew cab.

Shawn: So the Plug-N-Play and the Xtreme...

Silverado Owner: Yeah. I would just do the standard installment not the Plug-N-Play. I want it hard wired.

Shawn: I'm looking here. So they give you a 5 year sixty thousand mile warranty, 3 year thirty six thousand mile warranty. Let me look at the Xtreme and see what they say.

Silverado Owner: Okay. I thought it said 3 year but then I saw 5 years.

Shawn: 3 year warranty. Hold on. 5 year sixty thousand miles. All defects on the materials or workmanship on select AMP products properly installed per provided instructions except those listed under the 3 year warranty ... it's not really clear on which one it is.

Silverado Owner: Right. Okay. I just got to decide then what's the difference between the Xtreme and the other. Is it a stronger motor is it a different material? You know, those types of things. It doesn't really go into detail on their website.

Shawn: The Xtreme ... let's see here. I know its heavier duty.

Silverado Owner: Okay. As far as the mounting, it mounts the same way? Not like the LX where it has that rocker panel cover?

Shawn: Correct.

Silverado Owner: Okay. So it mounts like the standard one?

Shawn: Right. I should know this off the top of my head. I do apologize.

Silverado Owner: That's okay. Not a problem.

Shawn: Dual motor option. And then yeah, its just heavier duty. The ends are heavier duty, the track itself has more grip to it, the step itself.

Silverado Owner: That's probably the better way to go then.

Shawn: Yeah. I would say. All weather functioning, hard working constructions for superb traction. Let me see if my supplier has them. I don't know if you're ready or not but let me see if they have them just so you know and I know ... and they would be on back order of course.

Silverado Owner: Yeah. Why don't we get those ordered up. Can you send me an email so I can check out when I get home?

Is the AMP Research Plug and Play Available For My 2006 Dodge Ram 2500?

Dodge Ram Owner.: I talked to you last week about some AMP steps for my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 and I was just gonna see if I can call and place an order cause I tried to do it online, but it would not send me an email.

Peter: OK. OK I can get you going here.

Dodge Ram Owner.: OK, but I wanted to add the extensions as well. Do you carry the extensions for my Ram?

Peter: Let me see if AMP carries those. Okay, yes I see them here so I can add that to the order.

Dodge Ram Owner.: OK and that's free shipping, right?

Peter: Yes.

Dodge Ram Owner.: Alright and what is that, the plug and play?

Peter: It's not. They don't make the plug and play for your vehicle.

Dodge Ram Owner.: Okay. So it comes with the wiring and everything?

Peter: It does.

Dodge Ram Owner.: OK alright, so I just have to tap into wherever I need to.

Where Can I Get the Best Deal on AMP Research Powersteps Xtreme for a 2019 Ford F350?

F-350 Owner: I got a quote on some AMP Research Powersteps and I want to order them, please. You guys have the best deal on the Powersteps I've seen compared to anywhere else. 

Shawn: Beautiful, give me one second here. Those have been a little popular today. What kind of truck do you have?

F-350 Owner: It's a 2019 Ford F350, super cab, eight foot bed.

Shawn: Alright, and which ones were you looking at? The Plug-and-Play?

F-350 Owner: It's the Powerstep Xtreme. I've even got a part number for it. Somewhere I have the part number for it. 78235-01A. Is that what you've got?

Shawn: That is what I show.

F-350 Owner: Okay, and then I'm also considering an OBD2 splitter for that which is a 76404-01A.

Shawn: And then the steps. Here I got the price on those, those are the Xtremes, I am going to honest with you I'm looking at my supplier and they don't have them. But, I just got off the phone with AMP today, and there should be another shipment going to them this week yet, so I assume that since they're not showing stock that they should be on order at least.

F-350 Owner: I'm not in a hurry. I don't mind putting them on backorder. 

Shawn: So that's the steps, that's the OBD connector, was there anything else that you were looking for?

F-350 Owner: Nope. Just the steps and the OBD connector. 

Shawn: Okay. I'll get those on order and chances are you're going to see that ODB connector a week and a half before you see your steps. But, they'll both be on their way.

How Can I Check the Availability of AMP Research Power Play or Power Step XL Options for My 2016 Dodge Ram 1500?

Dodge Ram Owner: Hey, so I've got a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500. Do you guys have any AMP Research Power Play or Power Step XL options available for that?

Tonneau Covered Agent: For a 2016 Ram 1500? We should. Is it a crew cab?

Tonneau Covered Agent: Yeah, so for a 2016 Ram crew cab, that should be part number 77138-01A

Dodge Ram Owner: Okay. Well, let me ask you this. Last time I checked it was out of stock. What are you guys looking on the timeframe there on that?

Tonneau Covered Agent: I don't know, because we have quite a few of them on back order right now, so I'm not 100% sure on lead time for that. I'm guessing probably in the next week or two they'll build some more.

Can I Order Additional Accessories With my BAK Revolver X4 Tonneau Cover?

Peter: So, it looks like you're looking for a tonneau cover for your 2019 Ford F-150 Short Bed.

Ford Owner: Yep. It was actually it was a bulk order we discussed. The first thing was the BAK-Revolver X4.

Ford Owner: Does it come with a free tailgate seal kit?

Peter: Yes. I can include the tailgate seal kit in your order.

Ford Owner: Well I want to order today.

Peter: Okay, so you got the Revolver X4, the BAKBox2, the BedXTender, the mounting kit, and the free tailgate seal. Allow about five to seven days for delivery.
