Do I Have to Drill Into the Bed of My 2018 Chevy Silverado to Install Drain Tubes for My BAKFlip MX4?

Chevy Silverado Owner: I spoke to you about two to three weeks ago about a BAKFlip MX4. I'm sure you don't remember that, but that's okay.

Peter: Okay. What truck do you have?

Chevy Silverado Owner: A 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

Peter: Okay. Gotcha. Yep, I've got it here. It's a bit more than last time we talked, but it's still free shipping and there's no sales tax.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. Well, I should have ordered it last time then.

Peter: Yeah, unfortunately our costs went up recently.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. How about the swing out compartment box thing. That was free like a week ago.

Peter: Yeah, that rebate is ended.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Oh my goodness. All right, but here's the whole reason I didn't order earlier was because I was worried about the drains. When I watched the installation video, it shows drilling through this big plastic plug in the bed of the truck. They show it on, I think it's the F150.

Peter: Right.

Chevy Silverado Owner: My truck doesn't have that plastic plug. Where is that drain line supposed to go?

Peter: I don't know. Every truck's a little bit different. If there are no holes leading out of the bed, you would have to drill. Otherwise, more water would get in if the drain tubes weren't installed.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. Yeah, because I was thinking that I keep it in the garage. So it would only be in the rain if I'm out and it's raining and then it would be sitting somewhere while I'm in a store, in a restaurant, something like that while it's raining.

Peter: Right. There are a couple of other covers out there, hard-covers, that don't require the draining tubes. Like, for example, the BAK makes a Revolver X4. It's a hard roll-up cover. That one does not need drain tubes. And then, the X10 Solid Fold 2.0 is a hard tri-fold cover. That one doesn't need drain tubes either.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Do both of those sit flush?

Peter: The Revolver X4 does, but the X10 does not. That sits up on top the bed rails.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Okay. So it's Revolver X4?

Peter: Yeah and it's made by BAK and it's a little cheaper than the MX4.

Chevy Silverado Owner: The MX4... I've really, really had my eye on that one ever since you turned me on to it. You know. Now is the MX4, there's no way to like to plug the drain holes and let it run out the back end?

Peter: Yeah, I mean you can attempt to do that. I mean I know guys that have done that before. But, like I said, it is still going to allow a little bit of water to get in here and there. But yeah, you can plug them. I mean that's always an option.

Chevy Silverado Owner: Then I might have to wait until one of these deals comes back around with that storage box because I have trailer hitches and stuff like that. That would be perfect to keep it all in.

Peter: Yeah. Okay. Well just check in with us and we do deals every month or two.

How Does the BAK Revolver X4 Roll Up on a 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Silverado Owner: I have a 2018 Chevy Silverado and I had a question on the BAK Revolver X4 cover. Does that roll up?

Peter: Yes, it does.

Silverado Owner: Where does it go when it rolls up?

Peter: It rolls up on top. Think of it like your traditional soft roll-up cover. It rolls like that. But it's hard with aluminum underneath. And it rolls right up like on top of the bed rails and then when it's open it sits, that roll sits behind the cab.

Silverado Owner: Ooh. How big is that roll when its all balled up like that?

Peter: It's about seven inches or so.

Silverado Owner: Okay. How much weight will it support? You know like things sitting on it when it's out and closed.

Peter: I believe 200 pounds for this one.

Silverado Owner: Alright, I'm gonna have to investigate some different covers a little bit more.

Peter: Okay. No problem.

Is the BAKFlip MX4 Available for My 2006 Toyota Tundra?

Toyota Tundra Owner: Hey Peter, I got your email about a vinyl cover.

Peter: Okay. Which cover were we talking about?

Toyota Tundra Owner: You said you sent me a quote. I never saw the quote, but I did see your pricing in your email, your followup email. So I've got a 2006 Toyota Tundra. It's a four-door.

Peter: Okay. Which cover were we talking about?

Toyota Tundra Owner: Well, I was looking at two, and that's one of the things I wanted to talk about is, either the MX4, or they have a less expensive model.

Peter: Yes. The G2.

Toyota Tundra Owner: And what's the difference between the BAKFlip MX4 and the G2 for my truck?

Peter: I'm just looking up your truck real quick. It's a 2006 Tundra. What's the bed like?

Toyota Tundra Owner: Right. Well, that's what I'm going to go measure right now and I'm wondering, I've got a bed liner in it, so it's got the factory liner in it.

Peter: Okay. So they actually do not make the MX4 for your truck. So that might narrow it down. Let me double-check on the G2. So it's an '06 Tundra. What's the bed length?

Toyota Tundra Owner: It looks like 6'2 bed.

Peter: Okay. So they do have the G2. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Toyota Tundra Owner: Let me make a note on this. I got to see if I can afford this guy. Now, do I call, are you with the actual manufacturer?

Peter: I'm not. Our company is separate, but we work directly with the manufacturer. That's where the cover will be coming from.

Toyota Tundra Owner: Okay. I haven't done a ton of research, so let me see. What is the lead time to get it and how does it ship?

Peter: It's about five to seven days and it comes FedEx.

Toyota Tundra Owner: Okay. All right. Let me see what I can work up here and I'll give you a shout. Oh, are there any other covers that you might recommend? I mean, you guys carry a lot of brands?

Peter: We do. I actually liked the BAKFlips the best. They're the highest reviewed cover out there. They hold up so well over time and they very rarely have warranty issues. Plus they look really nice. So I think you're probably right where you want to be with the G2.

Where Can I Find the Best Price on a BAK Revolver X4 for a 2018 Chevy Silverado?

Silverado Owner: Hey you sent me a quote on a bed cover. I was going to check into it and see what exactly it'll cost me to get a tonneau cover. The BAK Revolver X4. I didn't know if you could quote me on it.

Peter: X4, What truck is it for?

Silverado Owner: It's a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado.

Peter: Okay. I sent you a new quote for that one just now. It's free shipping and there's no sales tax, if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Silverado Owner: Okay. I'm calling and just asking around, but this price is a lot better than anywhere else around.

Peter: That's right.

Silverado Owner: This isn't a scam right? It's real?

Peter: It's real. We're known for our pricing. We're typically the lowest on tonneau covers.

Silverado Owner: Okay. Because I like you, and I mean that is a good price. It's the best price I've foundona Revolver X4. Let me go ahead and do it.

Peter: Ok, great!

Where Can I Buy a BAKFlip MX4 and Running Boards for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma?

Tacoma Owner: Hi, I received your email about a tonneau cover.

Peter: Okay. Which cover were we talking about?

Tacoma Owner: It was the MX4. You had sent me a quote.

Peter: Okay. And what truck is it for?

Tacoma Owner: 2019 Toyota Tacoma with a six-foot bed.

Peter: Okay. It's free shipping, and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona. Do you want me to get that ordered for you?

Tacoma Owner: Yes, please. Let's get that cover ordered. Do you also sell running boards?

Peter: Yes.

Tacoma Owner: Do you carry the Ionic Pro Series 4?

Peter: We do not carry those particular ones. I am sorry. We do have others though.

Tacoma Owner: Could you send me information that you have on your running boards, or where can I get information on that?

Peter: Yeah. That's just one of the rare brands that we don't sell. We pretty much carry everything else. We don't advertise it on our site, though.  However, if you see anything on any other sites and happen to find what you're looking for, I'll beat their price anyway. I would just need a part number, and then I'd get you a great deal.

Tacoma Owner: Okay. So just a part number. Got it. Do you give any other additional deals for like a returning customer or anything like that?

Peter: We do. Yeah, I'll get you a good deal on anything else you're looking for.

Tacoma Owner: Awesome. And that cover comes with the install instructions?

Peter: It does. Please allow 5-7 days for that cover to ship and you are all set for now.

How Difficult is a BAKFlip Tonneau Cover to Install on a 2019 Tacoma?

Tacoma Owner: You sent me an email, I think it was yesterday, concerning a BAKFlip for my 2019 Tacoma.

Peter: Okay.

Tacoma Owner: And I just... I got a couple questions if you don't mind answering.

Peter: Sure.

Tacoma Owner: So I had a Tundra before, and I had one of those hard traditional Tonneau covers, like paint to match type thing.

Peter: Yeah.

Tacoma Owner: And I know... It was kind of just a pain to take off. You needed another person and stuff.

Peter: Yeah.

Tacoma Owner: And I've seen these low profile ones like the BAKFlip. So I'm pretty certain that's what I want, but I don't want anything super glossy or anything. Kind of like that matte finish. And from what I've seen, I think the BAKFlip is what I want. I just don't know which one.

Peter: So you don't like the glossy finish. You want a matte finish.

Tacoma Owner: Right.

Peter: Okay.

Tacoma Owner: And I understand no Tonneau cover is going to be totally waterproof, and my other one wasn't. You had weatherstripping on it and stuff, but... to block out water for the most part. Are these things secure?

Peter: They are. Yeah. When the tailgate is locked, the cover is locked and secure, and they're extremely water resistant. You're going to want to go with the BAKFlip MX4.

Tacoma Owner: Okay.

Peter: The most popular, the best reviewed, and it has that nice textured matte black finish that looks really good.

Tacoma Owner: Okay. And how difficult are these things to install?

Peter: Not Difficult at all. It's probably 30 minutes or less. They just clamp on. And then you install the drain tubes, and you're done. It's pretty simple.

Tacoma Owner: So I have the BAK rail system on that. Does that work with that?

Peter: It does.

Tacoma Owner: I'll be calling you back a bit later to place an order.

Peter: Okay. Sounds good!
