Should I Install a Tonneau Cover Before or After I Get a Spray Liner in My 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500?

Silverado Owner: I'd like to place an order. I'm in Hawaii and your shipping was about one third of the price. From the factory.

Shawn: Oh really? Did you try to go to the factory?

Silverado Owner: Well I just got the info to see how much it was.

Shawn: Yeah they ship, they ship FedEx, I think and yeah, they don't have as good a deal from what I've seen. Alright, so you have a 2019 Chevy Silverado 1500 Short bed. New body style?

Silverado Owner: Yeah. New body style

Shawn: Okay. Have you bought from us before?

Silverado Owner: No. I haven't purchased from you before, but I will from now on now that I know you guys have the cheapest shipping to Hawaii.

Shawn: Cool.

Silverado Owner: Do you know if I could install it after I put the spray liner or if I need to do it before?

Shawn: You want to get a spray liner?

Silverado Owner: Yeah I'm going to get the spray liner installed but I wasn't sure if it was going to mess up anything

Shawn: Why do you want to do that?

Silverado Owner: I don't know. Cause I'm going to put stuff in the back.

Shawn: Well, do this, look up Bedrug.

Silverado Owner: Yeah, no, I've had that before. I didn't like it as much

Shawn: No, it's, they're great man, they really are. I don't know what your experience was like, but I had one in all my trucks I love them.

Silverado Owner: Yeah I want to be able to throw stuff in the back and get dirty.

Shawn: Gotcha, well yeah, spray liner. It's probably, it might be a little bit easier to do it before the spray liner, but either way it doesn't really matter. I'd probably do the spray liner first that way the rails aren't in the way, you know. But the worst case scenario, if it doesn't sit all the way against your bulkhead, you know the back panel of your truck bed. If it doesn't bulk, you know, sit all the way against that, you might have to trim the rails a tiny bit to compensate for the material that's going to be on there but usually it's not an issue.

Silverado Owner: Okay.

Shawn: Alright, and that's about it man. We'll get you going.

Is the Undercover UltraFlex the Best Cover for a 2017 Silverado 1500?

Silverado Owner: I'm looking for the UnderCover Ultra Flex.

Peter: Okay. Nice, and what truck is it for?

Silverado Owner: It's a 2017 Silverado 1500 with the 5'8" bed.

Peter: Okay. Yep, we've got that here. I can offer free shipping and there's no sales tax if you're ordering from outside of Arizona.

Silverado Owner: Okay. I got a quote from AutoAnything for a little less, but if you can throw in the tailgate seal, then I'll do it.

Peter: Okay. Yes, not a problem. I can throw that in. I'll match their price, too.

Silverado Owner: Do you know if that still comes with that saddlebag or not? I don't know if that was a promo.

Peter: Yeah, they stopped doing that, actually, but it still comes with the LED lighting.

Silverado Owner: Can you tell me if there's a comparable or better cover in this price range?

Peter: There's not. This is my favorite cover. I sell them like crazy. There's a comparable cover and it's made by BAK and it's called the MX4, but it's basically the exact same cover, even the finish on top, but the Ultra Flex has a five-year warranty, and the MX4 has a three-year, so you're right where you want to be.

Silverado Owner: I saw that. Okay, those are the two I had pretty much narrowed it down to other than, I'll be honest, a folding cover. I kept looking at it. I just like the feature of being able to open right behind the bed, but yeah. I think I'm happier now.

Peter: All right, so we've got the UnderCover Ultra Flex and the tailgate seal kit. Just so you know, you're going to probably receive the cover before you receive the seal kit because that's coming from our office here in Arizona, but you can install the cover first.

Silverado Owner: Okay, that's fine. That's fine. I appreciate that. I appreciate your help.
